We continue to analyze Aukey peripherals, this time it is the new Aukey Gaming Mouse, a mouse with a very tight sale price but that promises great features with an optical sensor and a very careful design that is based on an aluminum base for a great durability. Nor is it lacking a complete management software with macros and a lighting system. Do not miss our analysis in Spanish.

First of all, we thank Aukey for the trust placed in handing over the product to us for analysis.

Aukey Gaming Mouse technical characteristics

Unboxing and design

Aukey Gaming Mouse is committed to a simple presentation like all brand products to save on costs, something very successful since what is important is what is inside the box and not this one. Once we open the cardboard box we find the following bunle:

  • Aukey Gaming Mouse Mini-CD with software Documentation

If we focus on the Aukey Gaming Mouse we see a device that surprises from the first moment, its construction denotes enough quality with a plastic chassis and an aluminum base, both materials seem of very good quality and look quite elegant. The wheel of the mouse is also metal and has a textured finish so that the finger does not slip, Aukey gives a lesson on how to care for a good product despite being very economical.

Aukey Gaming Mouse reaches dimensions of 130 mm x 60 mm x 40 mm and a weight of 165 grams, it is a medium-sized mouse and a fairly high weight, making it ideal for palm-type grips, other types of grip it adapts well but it shows that they are not its fort. At the top we find the two main buttons next to two buttons for the change of DPI and the wheel. The wheel looks very good quality and the grip on the finger is really good because of its texturing, its displacement is pleasant although perhaps a little hard. The buttons for the DPI change if they seem more flimsy and dance, these are plastic.

On the right side we find three programmable buttons, these are also plastic and have some slack, remember that it is a very cheap mouse and we do not think they will break soon. These buttons have a marked path and make a rather loud click when pressed. Below the buttons we have a textured plastic area that looks like rubber to the naked eye but is actually plastic. The left side is all free and we find the same textured plastic with a finish that looks like exposed rubber.

We go to the lower area, which is one of the most interesting of the Aukey Gaming Mouse, the base of this mouse is made of aluminum and five Teflon surfers have been included to improve its gliding. In the central area we see its ADNS-3050 optical sensor with a maximum of 4000 DPI, it is an economical sensor but it has proven to be able to offer very good performance for players who do not want to spend a lot of money.

Next to the sensor there is a small button to turn the lighting on and off which we will talk about later, in the lower area of the base there is a small cover inside which four small weights are hidden that we can remove to modify the weight of the mouse They are really very small so you will hardly notice anything, anyway it is a good detail.

Finally we talk about the lighting found in the Aukey logo in the upper area of the mouse, it is a simple system that we can put into fixed or breathing mode from the mouse software, we can also customize the color for each of the modes DPI.

Aukey Gaming Mouse Software

Aukey Gaming Mouse comes with its own management software, we can install it from the attached Mini-CD with the mouse or we can download it from the manufacturer's website. Its installation is extremely simple and once opened it remains in the background.

This software is quite complete and is divided into two sections, the first of which allows us to assign the functions to its nine programmable buttons, the possibilities include the functions of a mouse, multimedia functions, keyboard functions and the useful macros, so offers us a lot in this regard.

We also find the management of its four DPI modes that we can adjust from 250 to 4000 DPI in ranges of 250, we can also assign the color of the lighting to each of them. Finally we can modify the polling rate in 125, 250, 750 and 1000 Hz.

We go to the second section and we find the macro manager, the double click speed, the cursor scroll speed and the wheel scroll speed.

Final words and conclusion about Aukey Gaming Mouse

Aukey Gaming Mouse has shown that it can offer very good performance at a reasonable price, its ADNS-3050 optical sensor works perfectly and shows that the absurdly high DPI values we see today are nothing more than a marketing strategy. The mouse is precise and perfectly valid for playing and working, more precise even than other much more expensive mice.

The design in general is of very good quality although the side and upper buttons for the change of DPI are its weakest point, we do not know if they will break soon but if it is noted that they are of lower quality than or seen in others not much more expensive mice. Its management software is more complete than I expected and will help us make the most of this gaming mouse.

Aukey Gaming Mouse is for sale at a price of approximately 16 euros, a scandalous price for a mouse with a good quality optical sensor and elegant design.
