The recently launched FR-TEC AIZEN gaming Headphones that we analyze today, have been manufactured by the increasingly well-known Spanish company FR-TEC, in charge of launching gaming peripherals that are affordable for the average consumer. Among them, we find a new range of headphones with different names according to various Japanese deities. The AIZEN model that brings us here is the widest model that we find in this product line. Among its most outstanding features, we can find its large 50 mm headphones made of aluminum, a removable unidirectional microphone with noise cancellation and great audio quality in relation to its price.

Technical characteristics FR-TEC AIZEN

Unboxing

The main cover is striking for its minimalist white front, which highlights a side image of the headphones along with the model name in the upper left corner. The left and right sides respectively show a red kanji that refers to the model name, and the contents of the box. The rear part displays the different characteristics of the FR-TEC AIZEN Headphones in various languages, together with a general image of the helmets.

Once it is slid it is covered, there is an orange box inside which we find the headphones with the microphone already inserted and in its rear part the rolled cable and the PC adapter.

Headband design

Although the ear muffs of the headphones are linked by a black aluminum band between them, the FR-TEC AIZEN Headphones have a padded headband and, unlike what we are used to, it is made up of a fabric mesh in black color instead of the famous synthetic leather that is so recurring in these cases. It is a pleasant surprise to find this finish in such an affordable product. The ends of the headband are made of hard plastic to facilitate and guide the adjustable aluminum band. These ends have the name of the model printed in white.

Headphone Design

The earmuffs of the FR-TEC AIZEN Headphones are made of rigid black plastic. The cups of these ear muffs have a grid, so their open construction allows sound to enter and leave them. This achieves a more natural sound and with fewer reverberations inside, at the cost of allowing a little more ambient noise to enter. Inside these grids you can see the AIZEN logo and kanji in white. The aluminum band to the headband is part of these cups along with a small braided cable to connect both headphones.

The interior of the earmuffs, which as we already mentioned at the beginning of the review, have a diameter of 50 mm that offers a large surface for the ears. Each earpiece has a black synthetic leather padding with a thickness of 2 centimeters. They are thick enough to offer comfort when using them, and at the same time they offer an efficient seal to avoid sounds from our environment. In some cases, the ears may lightly touch the interior speakers, but we have not seen discomfort in that regard.

The interior of the headphones have a thin mesh fabric in black on which the AIZEN kanji is drawn again in white.

We found the overall quality of these ear muffs to be quite good. They look resistant and the aluminum of the headband gives it that extra durability.

Microphone and cable

On the front of the left earphone we find the flexible and unidirectional microphone that these FR-TEC AIZEN Headphones have already attached. This micro has a small sponge incorporated, both to cancel any environmental noise that may occur and to avoid air blows or blows that users can create. This microphone can be removed if it is rotated 45 degrees and is subsequently pulled, leaving us with normal and current helmets for other types of uses.

After our tests we have been able to verify that something low is heard, but it is something solvable from the windows interface. However, the quality given by this microphone seems good enough to us, being able to clearly hear what is being said through them.

Also from the bottom of the left earbud, a 1.2 meter twisted cable ends that ends in the 3.5mm audio jack connector. Halfway through this cable, we find a volume controller, which has a side wheel to raise or lower it. In this same piece there is a small switch to mute or not the microphone. We can say that, while the quality of the headphones is quite good as a whole, the manufacture of this controller in plastic doubt leaves us with some doubts about its long-term durability. We will update the review, in a while to see how it lasts for a long period of time.

The adapter included in the package allows us to connect the headphones to those PCs that require audio input and output.

Sound quality

After our tests of the FR-TEC AIZEN Headphones on different devices, both on pc and on consoles and other devices, we have come to the surprising conclusion that, despite being low-mid-range headphones, they offer really good sound, and deliver crisp sound even at high volume. The range of frequencies it collects has also seemed more than correct, both in its treble and in its lower frequencies. The bass sounds pretty good, although put to order, it could go a little deeper. In general notes, we have noticed a good balance of the different frequencies, without highlighting any above or below the others.

Conclusion and final words of the FR-TEC AIZEN Headphones

The company FR-TEC has created a fairly affordable low-mid-range headphones for you to complete. It has some good materials, and you can see the good work in features such as the headband made of fabric or the dimensions of the earmuffs to allow greater comfort.

We recommend reading the best headphones on the market

The quality both reproducing sound and generating the microphone yield a good level, at least enough expected by gaming headphones that are priced at € 35.95. It is a peripheral that will come in handy as a gift for teenage family members and even to buy it yourself if you want to enjoy good sound during the game without asking for the highest quality of the top of the range.
