AverMedia Tecnology is a company that focuses its products on digital entertainment, specifically focusing on content creators. Most of their products are directed towards them, and this time we are here to analyze and comment on one of their latest news: Live Streamer CAM 313.

Today we bring you the analysis and testing of your new webcam oriented to streaming AverMedia Live Streamer CAM 313. This cutie has been awarded at the 2019 Computex technology fair with the Best Choice Award 2019, so let's take a look!

On its cover we can appreciate the image of the product accompanied by some additional highlights such as its CAM 313 model, the strong point of recording an image in FULL HD and of course it is a product designed for Streaming. On its right side we can find a list of technical specifications in English and Spanish, while on the left is a detailed photograph of the lens.

It is on the back where we find the most information about the Live Streamer CAM 313. Detailed in a total of nothing more or nothing less than sixteen languages we find some additional information to the Technical Specifications such as:

  • FULL HD 1080p video Incorporates dual microphone Privacy tab for added security Flexible 360 ° rotatable (horizontal) design Unique camera effects, filters and more conation used with RECentral (software)

Next, we proceed to break the seal and open the box.

The first thing we see when we open it is the streaming camera. It is very well protected in a black rigid foam rubber mold that hides the cable underneath it and some paperwork.

The total content of the box consists of:

  • Live Streamer CAM 313 Quick Start Guide Warranty.

Live Streamer CAM 313 design

We must say that the first impression is quite good. The dual microphones on either side of the camera are covered in a glossy black perforated aluminum foil that contrasts with the matte colored plastic of the other components.

The structure of the camera is cylindrical, and the covers on the sides are fluted to allow a better grip when turning it to the left or right. Likewise, the camera itself is vertically and horizontally foldable at the connection point with its base around 40 ° and can rotate on itself another 360 °.

Live Streamer CAM 313 has a certain weight that is appreciated, or at least does not convey the feeling of being an ordinary piece of plastic in your hands.

The base of the camera itself is flexible and its two blades are covered on the inside face with non-slip silicone, also black, guaranteeing a correct fixing to almost any monitor. Likewise and for those who need it, one of its bases has an input to fix it by means of a screw to a tripod, so the number of positions in which it can be placed is quite wide.

We have done a test on two different monitors and the truth is that once fixed it is not easy to move by accident.

Turning to talk about its cable, it is 1.5 meters long, has a USB 2.0 output and (for those of you looking for that specific information) it is not meshed.

Another detail that we have loved is the sliding sheet that hides the camera when it is not in use. This is not only great for protecting the lens from dust more effectively, but it removes that concern from paranoid people like me we appreciate about being in front of an open camera. Laptop users know what I'm talking about.

Live Streamer CAM 313 Technical Specifications

We are in trouble, and the nerds love to know these little things. Live Streamer CAM 313 (PW313) is fully plug & play * and does not require the installation of any type of software for its correct operation. However, AverMedia also has two software for the camera that incorporate exclusive effects and filters, among other services: AverMedia Cam Engine RECentral 4 and RECentral Express. Similarly, the RECentral effects are compatible with other third-party programs such as OBS, SLOBSor and XSplit.

Some of the extras that Cam Engine RECentral include:

  • Beauty effect for portrait Animated filters for animals, flowers, light… Chroma filter Advanced light, contrast, saturation, backlight settings etc. Streaming set-up templates

We leave you here a video of AverMedia's own YouTube channel so you can see what we are talking about:

The System Requirements for the correct operation of the AverMedia Cam Engine software are quite low:

  • Operating System: Windows 10 / 8.1 / 7 (SP1) or higher Processor: Intel® Core ™ i5-6500 3.10 GHz Video: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 660 or above RAM: 4GB

Commissioning

The moment we've all been waiting for arrives: camera testing and software testing.

NOTE: For geniuses who (like me) plug in the camera, check that the system tells you that the device works correctly but you cannot use it, do not forget to check the Security Restrictions or Privacy Control. In my case, I had forgotten that in Windows 10 from Start → Settings → Privacy → Camera I had disabled the permissions of applications to access the installed cameras, and for that reason it seemed not to work.

Impressions in use of AverMedia Live Streamer CAM 313

We must say that the camera does a good job in broad strokes. For this section, before describing our impressions we have decided to upload the testing video directly. Here you can hear our impressions both on how the camera works and on the AverMedia RECentral 4 software.

Operation of the Cam Engine RECentral Software

The first thing is that once you download and install it from the official AverMedia website, you will need to restart the computer for the software to be fully operational. In our case it is the CAM 313 PW 313 camera. The software is available for both Windows (W7 onwards) and Mac OS (10.13.6 / 10.14.4 onwards). Once we open, we are greeted by a selection panel for the type of recording we are going to carry out.

In addition to the video that you have seen in the previous section, here we show you some screenshots about the software. It is not the central theme of the article and therefore we are not going to spend excessive time on it, but we consider it relevant that you take a look at it since it is a service included in the AverMedia package and we have gotten a very good impression of it.

Final words and conclusions about AverMedia Live Streamer CAM 313

Competition in the world of webcams is fierce, especially considering that Logitech is usually the top reference in this field. We consider the image quality offered by Live Streamer CAM 313 to be optimal for a webcam. Autofocus is something we miss, although we are aware that when streaming is not usually necessary. In addition, its absence is partly what lowers the cost of the product, so if you do not need it, it means extra savings. The sound recorded by the dual microphone is good even if it does not achieve the clarity that a dedicated studio microphone provides. Even more so considering that in our particular case the computer tower was very close and the heatsinks were at maximum performance. It has been a hard test.

What has pleasantly surprised us is the AverMedia software for editing and configuration. It is highly recommended to install it if we acquire the camera since it incorporates practically everything we could need not only when calibrating its image and sound but when preparing formats for streaming channels such as YouTube or Twitch.

Another thing that may interest you is that if what you want to do is Streaming, the Complete Set of AverMedia Streming 311 that includes the CAM 313 camera, USB Live Streamer MIC AM 310 microphone and Live Gamer Mini GC 311 video capturer, of which you already We have previously done a review can also come great. Can you currently buy at Game at a very good price?
