The existence of the AMD RX 590 graphics card has been leaking for the last time and it seems that it will be really competitive in the mid-range segment, where the GTX 1060 currently reigns.
The first benchmark of the RX 590 is leaked in a video game
The RX 590 features a huge performance boost and can now easily outperform the GTX 1060 in 1440p and 4K resolutions, and presumably 1080p as well.
The fact that leaks and rumors about the RX 590 are starting to emerge more frequently means that we are nearing a launch. Although there is no clear word on specs at the moment, we have some idea of how it will work. If the results in Final Fantasy XV are true, the RX 590 will fare much better than its predecessor, the RX 580.

In 4K and High quality testing (the standard to remove bottlenecks from), the RX 590 easily outperforms the GTX 1060 and even outperforms the Radeon Pro Vega 64. The GTX 1060 was the foundation of the offering. Affordable and consumer from NVIDIA and has been the king of 1080p for a long time, but that would be about to change with the RX 590.
Is this the AMD Polaris 30 chip?
AMD has hinted that it will launch a product every quarter and since Navi is not going to land this quarter, this appears to be the perfect stop for AMD to take a breather. The Polaris 30 GPU is going to be a Polaris 20 update that was released in 2017.
AMD Polaris 30 will be based on the 12nm FinFET process and we can expect a 10-15% performance boost with the process update and slightly higher clocks.
We will be watching for the next few days, perhaps AMD will surprise with an official announcement of this graphics card.
