BIOSTAR has announced the launch of its new BIOSTAR Hi-Fi Z170Z5 motherboard to support the Intel Skylake platform. The BIOSTAR Hi-Fi Z170Z5 is primarily characterized by including support for both DDR3 and DDR4 to ease the transition to the new Intel platform.
The BIOSTAR Hi-Fi Z170Z5 mounts an LGA 1151 socket alongside a Z170 chipset to support Skylake. Surrounding the socket we find two DDR3L-1866 DIMM slots and two other DDR4-2133 DIMM slots supporting a maximum of 16 GB DDR3 or 32 GB DDR4. Along with it, along with two PCI-Express x16 3.0 (x16 / x4) slots, one PCIe 3.0 x1 3.0 and two PCI.
The BIOSTAR Hi-Fi Z170Z5 includes Puro Hi-Fi audio technology with the Realtek ALC892 codec and includes a separate section of the PCB for sound circuitry. As for storage, it has four SATA III 6Gb / s ports and a SATA Express 16 Gb / s with support for RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10. The rest of its specifications include four USB 3.0, 1 USB 3.0 header, two ports USB 2.0, a USB 2.0 header, VGA, HDMI and DVI video outputs, a PS / 2 connector and a Gigabit Ethernet port .
