It has been a while since the mining of Bitcoin was discussed, something that gave a lot to talk about a few years ago and then almost disappeared from the network. Biostar has announced the new Biostar TB250-BTC motherboard for users who want to mine without making the leap to task-specific ASIC systems.

Biostar TB250-BTC features

The Biostar TB250-BTC is a card with a large number of PCI-Express slots to be able to install a significant number of specific GPU or ASIC-based mining cards. Mining is not a task requiring high bandwidth, so it is enough to include several PCI-Express 3.0 x1 ports together with a more traditional PCI-Express 3.0 x16 port. The board is based on a B250 chipset with support for Intel Skylake / Kaby Lake and has an ATX form factor. The processor is powered by a 7-phase VRM power supply, more than enough for the intended use of the equipment.

Best motherboards on the market in 2017

The rest of the board features include a 24-pin ATX connector alongside an 8-pin EPS connector, a SATA power connector, and two additional Molex connectors for power, a large power supply to seamlessly support a multi-card system mining. Finally we highlight two DDR4 DIMM slots, six SATA III 6 Gb / s ports, one M.2 32 Gb / s slot, six-channel HD audio and a Gigabit Ethernet network interface with the Realtek RTL8111H controller.
