With the arrival of devices equipped with Bluetooth 4.0, the safety of users has been reduced since the devices can be automatically detected unless the user disconnects the Bluetooth that is activated by default in many devices and users do not even realize that they can be detected in violation of your privacy.
The new Bluetooth 4.2 specification adds a new feature that allows smartphone users to give permission before others can detect their terminals. With this, the user can create a list of those who are allowed to access their terminal and a blacklist with those who are denied access, preventing them from waking up the smartphone. This new feature can also slightly increase the autonomy of the device, especially for those users who frequently pass by stores that track Bluetooth devices, by preventing the terminal from being woken up, it saves energy consumption and fixes a previous bug that allowed trackers to control the control. from the smartphone.
The file transfer speed has also been increased, now the process is 2.5 times faster. This has been achieved by increasing the capacity of the packets that are transferred using Bluetooth connectivity, which in turn results in lower energy consumption.
Finally, the new Bluetooth 4.2 allows you to connect the device to the internet if you are near a router with WiFi / Bluetooth connectivity enabled. Thanks to this characteristic, numerous Bluetooth devices can be connected to the network without the need for a smartphone.
Some of these new features will be available for Bluetooth 4.0 / 4.1 devices through a software update, although new hardware will have to be used to benefit from the increased speed and efficiency.
