Deleting a user on your Mac

If you are taking advantage of the summer to get your Mac ready, a good idea is to check the users of your team and eliminate those who are no longer going to use it. Follow the instructions that we detail below and you can see how it is a very easy process to execute.

In addition, we are going to take a look at the deletion of the guest user account, an aspect that has always bothered me when brand new equipment. But first, let's see how to remove administrator accounts or standard user accounts.

  • First, make sure you're signed in to your Mac with a user account with administrator privileges, then open System Preferences and click on the Users and Groups section

  • Click on the padlock that you will see closed in the lower left part of the window, and enter your password in order to make the desired changes. Select the account you want to delete and tap the "-" icon that you will see just below the Login Options.

  • Choose if you want to save or delete the home folder. Click Delete user

Finally, do not forget to close the padlock again in order to prevent further changes from being made.
