How to change the playback speed of youtube on your iphone

I am sure that many of you use YouTube every day, or almost every day. And surely on more than one occasion you have wished that the youtuber on duty spoke more slowly or was somewhat faster. Well, in the same way that we can do when we listen to a podcast, we can also speed up or slow down the playback of videos on YouTube.

Faster or slower: so you can change YouTube playback speed

Altering the playback speed of a video is not, from the start, the best option. However, when we are following a tutorial, it can be very useful to slow down the video. In this way we will not have to continuously pause the playback to make the indications that the youtuber is giving us. In these or other situations, we will only have to resort to an adjustment thanks to which we can change the speed of YouTube videos on the iPhone choosing from different available options.

First of all, open the YouTube application on your iPhone and start the video you want to watch. Next, tap on the screen of the playing video and then tap the three vertical dots that you can see in the upper right corner of the screen.

An on-screen menu will appear. Click on the option “Play speed”.

Then you can see all the available options, from x0.25 to x2. By default, you will have "Normal" checked, but you can either speed up or slow down playback just by clicking on the desired option.

For example, if you press x2, the YouTube video will play at twice the speed so that a duration of six minutes will be reduced to three. Conversely, if you press x0.5, the video speed will be halved, an option that may be fine for following a video-tutorial.
