How to cancel your subscription to google play music

Let's start without hot cloths: Google Play Music is a potato, of course. The application for iPhone and iPad is little (or not at all intuitive) and its recommendation service leaves much to be desired. Recommendations according to the time of day or your mood? HA! In most cases, the service simply shows you the same lists by modifying the name. Anyway, if you are trying Google Play Music and you already know that you are not going to continue, we will tell you how to cancel it before you have to pay your first monthly payment.

Say goodbye to Google Play Music

A while ago I told you how to get four months free on Google Play Music. I am still testing it (it does not expire until next July 30, but I already know that I will not renew. Consequently, since I do not want to wait for the last day to avoid surprises, I will proceed to cancel my subscription. Do not worry, because even if you cancel your account now, "you can continue using it until the end of the billing period in which you have canceled it", as indicated on the support page.

Cancel from your Android device

To cancel your subscription from an Android device, simply follow the following steps:

  1. Open the Google Play Music app

    .Tap the menu icon

    > Settings > Unsubscribe. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish unsubscribing.

Cancel from your iPhone, iPad or computer

If you have, as in my case, an iPhone and / or an iPad, you cannot cancel your subscription to Google Play Music from the app itself, but you must use the browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox…), both in these devices as if you choose to cancel from a computer. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. In your browser, visit play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. Click on your subscription to "Manage" it, and then select the Cancel subscription option. Follow the instructions on the screen to finish canceling the subscription.

You will see a confirmation message on the screen, and you will also receive a confirmation email. Remember that you can continue using Google Play Music until the moment your current subscription ends (which you just canceled) or your free trial period, as in my case.
