Today begins a new year, and if you are not too damaged, maybe you can dedicate it to review your New Year's resolutions (that you should have started), or do some of those tasks that you always leave "for tomorrow". If you are concerned about your privacy, a good task for today could be to obtain a copy of the data that Apple has been collecting about you. Let's see how to do it.

Download a copy of your data at Apple

Few are those who question the neatness with which Apple manages our data and privacy, but even so, it would be useful to know in detail what type of information is stored on the company's servers. To do this, you just have to follow the steps detailed below.

  1. First of all, access this Apple page, and log in by entering your Apple ID credentials. Then you will see different options on the screen: "Correct your data", "Deactivate your account", "Delete your account" and " Obtain a copy of your data ”. This is the option that interests us, so click "Start" under it.

In the next step, you must select the data you want included in the backup you are requesting, from "iCloud Contacts" or "iCloud Notes" to your "Apple Online Store and Apple Store Activity", passing for "Bookmarks and iCloud reading lists" among others. The only thing that will not be included in this copy will be the purchases you have made in the App Store, iTunes Store, iBooks Store and Apple Music.

Once the data is selected, click "Continue", a blue button located at the bottom of the screen.

Now you just have to wait a little, up to seven days, while Apple prepares your backup and verifies your request. When it is ready, you will be notified by email so that you can download the copy you have requested.
