Recently, taking advantage of a great offer at half price, I have acquired a Google Home Mini in coral color, and although I am somewhat reluctant to talk to objects, I must admit that I like the idea. I am still polishing this device, and learning to get the most out of it, and one of the things it has allowed me to do is listen to the radio again, something that I practically never did for a long time.

Listen to traditional radio in the Google Home

With the arrival of the Amazon Echo and Google Home devices on the Spanish market, I am afraid that smart speakers are beginning to become generalized as a useful way to control other devices in the home (thermostats, lights and any other device through "smart plugs").), as well as listen to podcasts, music, the latest news, stay on top of your schedule or listen to the radio, among many other possibilities.

In the case of Google Home, you should know that they do not have an integrated radio system, so we will have to use a third-party service. I tell you about my experience.

I have installed the Tune IN app on my iPhone, and from there everything has been "sew and sing" because you just have to tell your smart speaker what you want to hear:

  • OK Google, put Europa FM OK Google, put Los 40 Principales Sevilla

In my particular case, I do not need to specify the application through which I want to listen to the radio, probably because I have not installed another similar application on my iPhone, or because no other radio app is compatible with Google Home.

Of course, we can also listen to the radio using the Tune IN application on our mobile and sending the signal to the Google Home, however, what is funny about this when we can request it with our voice?
