Apple is reputed to have a very closed ecosystem. And although those who express this argument are not without reason, it is also the safest mobile operating system. This security and secrecy means that many people do not make the leap for fear of not being able to interact with devices and equipment on other platforms, for example, when transferring photos from the computer to the iPhone. However, as we will see below, it is something really simple so you will not have to worry at all.

Transfer photos from computer to iPhone

Years ago, Apple made its own cloud available to users, which it called iCloud . Within it there is a specific function for images and videos, the iCloud Library, where all the photos you take from your iPhone are automatically stored, but to which you can also upload other photos from any computer, be it PC or Mac In this way, your photos will appear automatically not only on your iPhone, but also on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

If you have photos on your computer that you want to transfer to your iPhone, all you have to do is follow the following instructions:

  • First, open the web browser that you use regularly (Safari, Firefox, Chrome) and access the web icloud.com. Once there, enter the username and password of your Apple ID. Select the Photos icon. At the top of the screen you will see a cloud symbol with an arrow pointing up. Click on it, a new window will now open. Navigate to the place where the photos you want to transfer to your iPhone are located. Select all the photos you want and click on the button "Choose", "Accept" or similar.

All the photos you have selected will be uploaded to the iCloud Library . Once the process is finished, all those images will begin to appear in the Photos application on your iPhone.

Remember that in order to enjoy this advantage you must have the iCloud Library option activated on your iPhone. To do this, follow the path Settings → Photos → Photos in iCloud, and press the slider to enable this feature.

Transfer photos from Mac to iPhone using AirDrop

If in addition to an iPhone you are also a user of any apple computer with macOS (Mac Mini, MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac Pro, or iMac), you still have it easier to transfer photos from your computer to the iPhone thanks to the AirDrop function, a kind of "bluetooth" that works perfectly. Thanks to this option you can pass a single photo, two, three or whatever you want, in addition to videos or documents.

First of all, make sure that both your Mac and iPhone are connected to the same wireless network. Then select all the photos you want to see on your iPhone, right-click on the selection, select Share. In the window that will appear on the Mac screen, select your iPhone once it has been detected.

The images will be sent in seconds to your iPhone, and you can now delete them from your Mac, if that is what you wanted to do.

Other alternatives

In addition to using icloud.com or the AirDrop function, there are other alternatives. The most common, if you are a Mac user, is the Photos app itself, which will avoid you having to use the browser. There are also third-party applications but, despite their functionality, they tend to have a more cumbersome operation, so personally, I do not recommend it.

As you can see, transferring photos from the computer to the iPhone is very simple and fast, and you don't need to have a Mac or use iTunes.
