Apple's new update watchOS 5 includes a new Siri feature that eliminates the need to say "Hey Siri" or have to press the digital crown to activate the personal assistant.

Instead, you can lift your wrist and speak directly to Siri, thanks to the Apple Watch's ability to detect your movements and your desire to transmit a command from Siri.

Activate the Pick Up to Talk feature on your Apple Watch

To activate this new functionality, all you have to do is make a small and quick adjustment to your apple watch. Of course, as the company reminds us in its fine print, "the Siri Lift to Talk feature is only available on Apple Watch Series 3 and later " so, if you do not find this function, do not go crazy.

If you want to stop saying "Hey Siri" and abandon the task of pressing the digital crown, follow these instructions:

  1. First of all, open the Settings application on your Apple WatchSelect the "General" option. Go to the "Siri" section and press on it. Activate the "Pick up to talk" function in case you have not activated it previously.

From now on, using the “Lift to talk” function is as simple as raising your wrist towards your face and indicating what you want to Siri.

This gesture is slightly different from the most common gesture of lifting the wrist to consult the screen of your watch or use any available application since it requires a greater distance, that is, you need to bring the Apple watch closer to your mouth (it is not a matter of sticking it either), in order for the device to understand that what you precisely want to do is give Siri some indication.
