One of the novelties of the latest updates to Windows 10 is that we can already see the use made of the graphics card system, without the need to install a third-party application. This has been a novelty since this possibility has never been in previous versions of Windows.

Monitor the graphics card from Windows 10

Windows has allowed us to know for a long time the use that is being made of various resources such as the processor, the hard disk, the RAM, the network card and much more, all in a very comfortable way from the task manager. However, we have had to wait until Windows 10 to know the use of the graphics card from the operating system itself.

What is it and how does a GPU or graphics card work?

This novelty has been introduced in the Fall Creators Update, thanks to this we will be able to know how much use is being made of the graphics card from the Windows 10 task manager itself. In the event that we are using more than one card, the use will be shown of each individually.

To access this option we only have to open the task manager with the key combination Ctrl + Shift + Esc, we can also access it by right clicking on the Start bar of the operating system. Now we only have to go to the Performance section, below everything we will find a graph that informs us of the use that is being made of the graphics card.

The system will show us quite valuable information in addition to the percentage of use of the graphic processor of our card, for example it will indicate the amount of graphic memory in use, the slot in which the card is installed, the date of update of the driver and its version, and other details. Thanks to this, we can have real-time information about our graphics card without having to install anything additional.
