Although Apple TV is not a mass device outside the United States, being a much more popular option among users of the brand's other devices than among those who are not, Canal + France now wants to take it a step further by offering it as alternative to traditional decoders.
Apple TV as a cable "killer"
As we have recently read on Variety , Canal + has announced that it will offer cable subscribers the option of renting a 4K Apple TV to replace the traditional cable box.
Specifically, starting next May 17, that is, tomorrow, customers will be able to choose Apple TV 4K as their decoder in exchange for a rental that will amount to € 6 per month.
Apparently, users will only have to download the myCanal application from the tvOS application store and, after entering their credentials, they will be able to enjoy all the content to which their subscription gives them access.
As we said, the announcement has been made through Variety by Canal +, which has described Apple TV 4K as the "perfect showcase for our exclusive premium content":
Meanwhile, Vice President of Apple Music and Apple International Content Oliver Schusser said Canal + users will be able to benefit from "a rich and easy-to-use experience" for content consumption:
