Well, in the press release that AMD Spain sent us today, we will detail the characteristics of the Ryzen 7 processors that we all already know, right? But as a surprise we also have the technical characteristics of the Ryzen 5 with XFR, exactly the 1600X and the 1500X.

AMD Ryzen 5 1600X and R5 1500X technical specifications

Ryzen range Model Cores Threads Base frequency (GHz) Increased frequency (GHz) Heatsink included TDP (Watts) On sale
Ryzen 7 1800X 8 16 3.6 4.0 N / A 95 Now
Ryzen 7 1700X 8 16 3.4 3.8 N / A 95 Now
Ryzen 7 1700 8 16 3.0 3.7 Wraith Spire 65 Now
Ryzen 5 1600X 6 12 3.6 4.0 Wraith Spire 95 Q2
Ryzen 5 1500X 4 8 3.5 3.7 Wraith Spire 65 Q2

I'm not going to talk about the AMD Ryzen 7, are we going to focus on the AMD Ryzen 5 ? As technical characteristics we have that the Ryzen 5 1600X will have 6 cores, 12 threads of execution, a base frequency of 3600 MHz that goes up to 4000 MHz and a TDP of 95W. The TDP seems to be a guideline, and reviewing several reviews it is not really clear to us the consumption that each processor will have. Until next week we will have our samples, we can not count more accurately.

While the Ryzen 5 1500X is somewhat more modest with 4 cores and 8 threads of execution, base frequency of 3.5 GHz and a speed that increases with the turbo up to 3.7 GHz.

We see that their launch will be in Q2 (April to June) this year, so it would not be anything unusual to see them in stores in early April , it would be a logical move by AMD. Another interesting fact is that it will incorporate the Wraith Spire heatsink with its RGB / LED light ring (the one on the left) in both models and in the R7 1700 to dry.

We recommend reading the best processors on the market.

Remember that both processors have XFR technology (see the article to find out what it is in more detail), but if I do not explain it quickly: it automatically overclocks taking into account the temperatures of your processor, that is, if the processor has good temperatures at 4 GHz, it will try to go up at a higher speed as long as the temperature curve allows it. Ideal for those users who do not want to get involved to touch the BIOS of their PC and make a thousand tests. Do you think enough reasons to buy AMD Ryzen ? We want to know your opinion!
