This is a battery-powered upright or hand-held vacuum cleaner and includes a 430W digital motor with 24 kPa suction power. Unboxing

One of the sections that become more important in a product of these characteristics is undoubtedly Unboxing, in order to see what accessories we find in the Conga RockStar 300 X-Treme. The vacuum cleaner has come to us in a fairly compact cardboard box, although a long one built in rigid cardboard and fully printed on the outside to give us a lot of information about the product. Its measurements are 29 x 70 x 19 cm, weighing about 4 Kg or so.

We open the package and we find all the elements perfectly arranged in a large cardboard mold and wrapped in their corresponding plastics. It will be our task to assemble our product, so of course we will have a manual.

Design and components

We will start by looking in detail at all that the Cecotec Conga RockStar 300 X-Treme offers in terms of exterior design. And of course, it is a vertical vacuum cleaner, handheld or whatever we want to call it, the fact is that the main block is of a very small size so that we can take it with just one hand without effort. It is entirely made of good quality plastic and a very decorative and futuristic bright gray color.

This block is made up of the pistol grip to hold it, and provided with a button to turn it on and off as normal. Right in the front, we have installed the Lithium-Ion battery that powers the vacuum cleaner, which has a capacity of 2500 mAh at 25.9V. On the left side we will have the charging port with an indicator LED.

Well, just above the grip, we have precisely the motor, which may seem very small, but you will be surprised with the suction power it has. This will be the element that weighs the most with the battery, and for this reason they are located very close to the grip in order to have a center of mass as close as possible. Right at the back we find the second button whose function is to select the three available power programs.

The largest part corresponds to the cargo tank, which is 800 ml and has a system with cyclonic technology to absorb dirt and separate it into large and small material thanks to an intermediate filter. This filter is a high-performance paper filter to retain the maximum amount of dust and allergens on the surface. In the upper area we have a button whose function is to unlock and remove the high-performance filter placed in the first stage of the tank.

Finally, in the most advanced area we will of course have the suction mouth and the first section of the arm, where we will have to place the different accessories, or accessory arms to provide the vacuum cleaner with functionality. Right here we will have a new button, which we will have to operate so that, after a slight turn of the tank, it separates from the rest of the suction system to be able to clean and empty it. All this waste collection system can be cleaned easily and with water, since there are no degradable elements inside except for the paper filter, which we must remove previously. In any case, under the tank there is also a lid that we can remove to empty it. of course these of Cecotec have taken into account all the details.

Brushes and use of Cecotec Conga RockStar 300 X-Treme

Now we will go to see the different brushes and the use that we can give them. To start we must know that the main arm is also removable at both ends, and this one is made of metal, although it weighs very little. Remember that the set does not exceed 2.5 Kg in total. The total measurements with this tube and mounted brush are 25.5 cm wide, 22.5 cm high and 119 cm long, so we can use it perfectly while standing.

Wide and narrow nozzles

In the Cecotec Conga RockStar 300 X-Treme we have the two circular mouthpieces, one very narrow oriented to complicated corners and the other wider directed to somewhat wider surfaces such as railings, frames, etc. They have brushes at the end, but it is that we can also throw them back to directly access a suction tube similar to those of a lifetime.

Obviously this will be the vertical or hand-held mode of the suction equipment, since it is intended to be used on vertical surfaces or above the floor plane.

Floor and surface brushes

The version we tested has a head that rotates by the action of a motor installed on one side. When joining the different elements of the suction arm you can see that there are two-pole connectors, responsible for carrying the current to the end. In addition, this brush has two brush options. On this occasion we will carry the vacuum cleaner as if it were a broom.

The first of them is a Jalisco brush, which is basically a very smooth roller that will turn everything that is placed in front of it when turning. It has very soft and highly dense filaments that trap dirt very well. We are talking, for example, of earth, breadcrumbs, and the like that are better dry, since otherwise we will distribute the dirt throughout the space when the roller gets too dirty. Please do not use it on animal poop, chocolate, and the like.

The second brush is a silicone and bristle roller, which is basically intended to be used to pick up especially annoying items such as hair or things that can get tangled between rugs. Bristles are much more useful brushes for this function of deinterlacing carpet elements, and therefore they are used with almost all robot vacuum cleaners. It is a very interesting option for homes with pets.

All these brushes can be washed with water without any problem when they are very dirty. Especially the Jalisco that will retain a lot of dirt if we vacuum the vacuum cleaner for almost any type of dry areas.

Rockstar 500 Ultimate Extra Brushes

Note, these elements are not available in the model we tested, it is only for informational interest.

As an important extra element, the 500 version comes with a special motor brush. This brush is initially aimed at especially difficult areas such as carpets or tapestries if possible, where the dust gets inside the fibers. This brush includes a motor that rotates it in the opposite direction to our movement to collect and absorb all dirt using a silicone brush and bristles

We will also have an elongated brush that is placed directly on the tube to reach high places or clean some surface with the dust specially attached to it. This brush is similar to the two included in our test model, but a little more oriented towards large surfaces such as walls or vertical fabrics.

Similarly, we have a second tube with a joint at the end to connect the floor brushes and to be able to turn them almost automatically. We will not have the obligation to join the brush, but we recommend its use for difficult places. And as a third telescopic element we will have an extendable plastic tube that we can attach to the main one to use it in especially high places or corners where we do not reach comfortably.

DigitalBrushless engine, autonomy and functions

Let us now see more extensively the technical section of the Cecotec Conga RockStar 300 X-Treme, which as we have already commented is exactly the same as the 500 Ultimate version.

This new generation of Cecotec is distinguished by incorporating a brushless type digital motor, that is, with electronic speed control and brushless on the axis of rotation. This prevents the brushes from wearing out over time and having to be changed as for example occurs with some hammer and drill type tools.

This motor provides us with a suction power of 24 kPa (130 aW) thanks to its 430W of electrical power. It has the brand's own MultifasicSystem technology to improve consumption efficiency. This will be important, since the vacuum cleaner works through a 2500 mAh and 25.9V battery that provides a maximum autonomy of 65 minutes when we use Eco mode. The charging cycle lasts about 4 hours, which is not bad at all. to use it once or twice a day if we are fond of cleaning.

In the area of ​​the filter and deposit, a system of separation of particles by centrifugal force is included, in order to separate dust from stones, for example. In addition, the Ciclonic System technology is implemented, which basically ensures invariable suction power over time to increase the life of the vacuum cleaner. Keep in mind that normal vacuum cleaners, those without this system, lose strength over time as you all know.

With the button located in the back area, and that we saw at the beginning of the review, we will have a total of three suction programs:

• Eco mode: in this case the motor will be more relaxed so that the maximum battery time lasts. You will not be able to vacuum large items like pebbles, but you can vacuum less embedded dust and general dirt. Daily: with this mode we can even remove some superficial dirt from the carpets with the Jalisco brush and the other, although the battery will last a little less. It is the most recommended way if we clean the house daily Turbo: we will get the maximum power from the engine, and we must say that it sucks which is pleasant. With this mode we will thoroughly clean even carpets and upholstery of the car, but of course, the battery will last less.

Come on, what has been three current and normal suction motor power positions. Of course we do not have management through software or anything like that. Without further ado, we will tell about our experience of use in general lines.

The Cecotec Conga RockStar 300 X-Treme has left us a great taste in the mouth. Although we are a specialist in networks, hardware and software, many times we like to try other interesting gagdets for our day to day. We believe that this cordless vacuum cleaner offers everything we need for a weekly maintenance of our home: rugs, few accessible corners for vacuum cleaner robots, sofa covers and its good work with the "hairs" of the kittens work very well.

It has a 430W motor, 24 kPa suction, great efficiency and the ability to change the brush according to our needs seems like a total success. Also keep in mind that its lithium battery (2500 mAh) offers us an autonomy of up to 65 minutes. Enough time to clean our home several times.
