Cherry GmbH continues with its usual effort to improve the characteristics of its mechanical switches in order to offer users new keyboards with improved characteristics that are better adapted to their needs. Its new addition is the Cherry MX Black Silent.
Cherry MX Black Silent features
The new Cherry MX Black Silent mechanical switch arrives to expand the Silent family and add a new alternative to the Cherry MX Red Silent that the manufacturer Corsair has been using exclusively for a few months. We remind you that the exclusivity agreement between Corsair and Cherry ends this December, so it is expected that very soon we will see new keyboards from other manufacturers with the Cherry MX Red Silent.
We return to focus on the Cherry MX Black Silent and it is that it is a mechanism that has been designed to be especially silent in its operation, for this a rubber pad has been placed that makes sure to reduce the noise generated when impacting the key when we press it down as well as the sound of its bounce, which is more commonly known as "clack". As a good switch, Black is linear with a driving force of 60 cN +/- 20 cN, which makes them harder than Reds with a driving force of 40 cN. The rest of its features include a 2 mm +/- 0.6 activation path and a great length of 50 million keystrokes for each key.
