Chromax.black, the new all-black noctua heatsink series

Noctua today unveiled the long-awaited black versions of its NH-D15, NH-U12S and NH-L9i CPU Coolers. The new versions called chromax.black with black coated fans and heat sinks combine the same thermal performance with a more austere and elegant appearance.

The new NH-D15, NH-U12S and NH-L9i chromax.black models appear to be identical to normal models except for color. The aluminum that acts as a heatsink is totally black, in addition to the fans. The latter make use of black anti-vibration pads, fan clips and fan screws, plus the mounting parts are also black, these three models are completely black from head to toe.

Noctua ensures that the thermal performance of chromax.black models is identical to that of normal models, only their appearance varies.

The NH-D15 chromax.black and NH-U12S chromax.black will initially be exclusively available in a limited edition Linus Tech Tips that includes extra orange anti-vibration pads and custom fan stickers. Meanwhile, non-limited versions of the NH-D15 chromax.black and NH-U12S chromax.black will begin selling through Amazon as soon as the limited editions of Linus Tech Tips are sold out and through other distributors in late this month.
