The Chinese manufacturer Chuwi has announced the launch of a new Chuwi Lapbook 12.3 ultrabook with features that make it a worthy rival to other computers in the sector such as the Xiaomi Mi Air Notebook or the very Surface of Microsoft.

Chuwi Lapbook 12.3, new Chinese ultrabook that aims high

The Chuwi Lapbook 12.3 is an ultrabook that is built with an aluminum chassis for a high quality premium finish, the team mounts a screen with a diagonal of 12.3 inches at an impressive resolution of 2736 x 1824 pixels, which translates into a 3: 2 aspect ratio and very high pixel density for excellent image definition. Inside we find 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage that we can expand thanks to the presence of an M.2 slot for a high-speed SSD.

The processor is undoubtedly its weakest point since we are dealing with an Intel Celeron N3450 consisting of four 2.2 GHz Braswell cores and 700 MHz Intel HD Graphics 500. It is a valid processor for day-to-day tasks but that is far from what the Core M and Core iX of Xiaomi notebooks and Microsoft's Surface can offer.

The rest of the features of the Chuwi Lapbook 12.3 include the inclusion of dual-band 802.11ac WiFi to navigate at full speed, Bluetooth, USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports, a webcam for video conferencing, a well-supported HDMI output to connect the equipment to a TV or external monitor and Windows 10 64-bit operating system pre-installed.

For now we do not know the price, it is expected to be announced at the end of the month and then we will know if we are in front of an interesting team or one more Chinese ultrabook although a priori it does not look bad except for a fairly limited processor for demanding users.
