GRUB is a multiple boot manager, developed by the GNU project that is commonly used to start one, two or more operating systems installed on the same computer. It is mainly used in Linux operating systems.

Today we are going to show you 5 keys that you can use in GRUB and that you probably did not know, especially if you are just entering the Linux world.

FIVE KEYS TO USE IN GRUB

1. SHIFT

By default GRUB does not display its menu on boot. To see GRUB during startup, press the right SHIFT key.

2. Up / Down keys

When you are in the GRUB menu you can use the up and down arrow keys to select other operating systems and display kernel settings from the menu. When you have selected the one you want just press "Enter" to start.

3. 'E' to Edit

There may be times when you need to edit a boot command, use the arrow keys to select a boot option and press the 'E' key from the boot options for that entry.

You may have to do this to run a specific boot parameter, pass a kernel flags, adjust the runtime level, or set the buffer mode.

When you're ready to start with the changed changes press Ctrl + X.

4. 'C' for command line mode

Press the "C" key in the GRUB menu to modify in 'CLI Mode'. A lot of things can be done from here, including renaming menu entries, fixing fixes on installation, or booting with a custom kernel.

5. 'ESC'

Touch the "ESC" key at any time to return to the main GRUB menu screen. In case you press ESC in the editor or another section, all the configuration changes made are discarded and will go backwards in the main menu interface.
