Club 3D is launching its first HDMI 2.1 standard capable cables, which will allow data transmission rates for 10K resolution images with 120Hz refresh rate (DSC 1.2 support).

Club3D announces its HDMI 2.1 cable with 48Gbps bandwidth

The bandwidth of these cables is 48Gbps (also known as HDMI 2.1) in 2 different lengths. The two cables presented are the 1 meter long CAC-1371 and CAC-1372 that reaches 2 meters long. Both are ready for the new standards to come with screens exceeding 8K resolutions.

The increase in maximum bandwidth compared to previous versions is achieved by increasing both the bit rate of the data channels (from 6 Gbps to 12 Gbps) as well as the number of channels (from 3 to 4). This allows to support resolutions of up to 10K @ 120Hz, a real madness.

The new feature included with the HDMI 2.1 specification is Screen Flow Compression (DSC) 1.2, which is used for video formats greater than 8K with 4: 2: 0.

Technologies implemented:

  • Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) reduces or eliminates image delay and tearing for smoother movement in games. Quick Media Switching (QMS) for movies and video eliminates the delay that can lead to blank screens before content is displayed. Quick Frame Transport (QFT) reduces latency. HDMI 2.1 also supports static and dynamic HDR metadata.

All the features of HDMI 2.1 are fully compatible with this Club3D CAC-1371/1372 cable. Pricing for Club3D HDMI 2.1 cables has yet to be revealed.
