Colorful intends to enter the market for AMD processor motherboards, several industry sources point out that the Chinese manufacturer is already working on the launch of its first motherboards with AM4 socket together with the series chipset. 400.

Colorful will debut with the AM4 platform this year

Colorful is expected to announce its first AM4 motherboards after this year's Computex 2018 held in June. These boards will all be based on AMD 400 series chipsets, so they will have native support for Raven Ridge and Pinnacle Ridge processors right out of the box. Of course, compatibility with current first-generation Ryzen processors will be maintained, which are based on Summit Ridge silicon manufactured at 14nm.

Colorful may use its coveted iGame Vulcan brand to promote some of these AMD motherboard models. Currently, it only sells motherboards for Intel platforms with the Z370 and X299 chipsets, in addition to models focused on cryptocurrency mining with the less advanced B250.

We will still have to wait to see the first Colorful AMD motherboards, it is certainly good news for users that we will have a new option to choose from when assembling a system powered by Sunnyvale's technology. The great success that AMD has achieved with its Ryzen architecture means that more and more manufacturers and users are deciding to bet on its solutions.
