The next generation of 10th generation Intel Comet Lake S processors will be the crown jewel of its 14nm lineup and will be manufactured using the 14nm ++ process.

New leaks refer to a Comet Lake S chip for an LGA 1159 socket

In the last few hours, new, unpublished material has emerged from a somewhat strange engineering sample. The photos of these CPUs have been leaked on the Chinese interwebs and shared by a user on the network. These would be the first engineering samples taken, as well as a CPU-Z screenshot of it. The LGA socket contact plates can also be seen on the back of the processor and there is almost no free space left on the printed circuit board.

Interestingly, the information tells us that Intel is considering calling its processors named 'K' and 'KF'. This is something that is in line with its previous series and should help differentiate the 125W TDP model from the 65W parts. The company has recently increased the CPU TDP limit from 95W to 125W to allow for higher clock speeds to reach a staggering 5.3 GHz on the Core i9 10900K. The Comet Lake S series will feature integrated UHD730 graphics. The engineering sample in question has the prefix QSRK (qualified sample) followed by the usual identification marks.

The absence of the Intel logo (standard for confidential samples) is also present. This normally denotes a product that is in the final stages of specification and is usually where they are set for arrival at stores. It will not be long before this processor is qualified and the media samples start to come out. It seems like we just have to wait a little longer before the reviews start leaking.
