How to fix screen saver in windows 10

If you did a system update from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, it is very possible that the screen saver has stopped working in case you had it activated. For these cases there are several possible solutions that we will tell you about in the next lines.

1 - Update Windows 10

The issue may be resolved by leaving Windows 10 with the latest patches that have come out. For that we are going to force an update using Windows Update:

2 - Update drivers

We can try to update the Windows 10 drivers, for that we can investigate on the official website of the manufacturers, for example, of the graphics card or the motherboard that we have and install them one by one in case there are new ones available.

There are applications that can install the latest drivers on our computer with a few clicks such as DriverAgent or Driver Updater from Auslogic.

3 - Verify screen saver settings

It is possible that the solution is very simple, just by checking the screen saver settings.

• We go to Control Panel and click on Appearance and Personalization We go to Personalization and click on Screen Saver

• We have to make sure there is an asset, otherwise we choose one.

4 - Disconnect unnecessary devices

Some peripheral connected via USB or Bluetooth may be interfering with the screen saver. In this case, we will deactivate any peripheral, telephone, game console, external disk or any other device that is not strictly necessary to verify that this is not the problem.

5 - Clean the mouse and mouse pad

Optical mice use a motion sensor to detect which direction we move the pointer. It is very possible that the protective glass on the sensor or the mat has accumulated dirt and is detecting 'false' movements or entries and that this makes the screen protector never appear.

In this case we are going to clean the mouse and the mat with a rag or cotton ball with alcohol.
