Deleting partitions will allow us to allocate more space to the one that we leave in the final form, being able to occupy up to the entire complete hard disk. It is very useful if we are running out of space for the Windows partition and the hard disk is of greater capacity.

  • To access the tool, right-click on the start icon. We choose the option " Disk Management "

  • In the interface of the program, we will see the graphical representation of the partitions of our hard disk. What we want to do is eliminate the partition of " documents " to assign to " C: " all the available space

The 500 MB “Reserved for the system” partition will not be able to be deleted, although we will not have it visible in the file explorer either. It will also not be possible to eliminate the appearance of the system

  • Click on the partition that we want to delete with the right mouse button and click on " Delete volume "

All files on the partition will be removed

We can also choose the option of " Format... ". With this option we will be able to physically delete the files from our hard disk, leaving the partition completely clean and then being able to delete it.

The partition will now go black as unallocated space. If we do this in all the partitions that we have, it will remain as an unallocated black space. Now it's time to extend partition in Windows 10

Once the partitions that get in the way are removed, we can increase the size of the ones we have left, such as the partition where our system is installed

  • To do this, we right-click the partition " C: " and choose " Extend volume... "

  • An assistant will appear to carry out the action. On the second screen we will have to select the hard disk in the box on the left and click on " add "

  • Automatically below , we will add the space of the unallocated partitions to add it to the partition we want. If we do not want to assign all the space, we will have to type in the last box a value in MB of the amount we want to increase

  • Note that the available size is 40, 000 MB and we are going to increase the partition by only 20, 000 MB. When we agree with everything, click next and then finish. Now the system partition will have increased by 20 GB.

  • If we want to fully increase the partition, we will only have to place all the space that we have free. It will be as simple as giving everything “ Next

We will already have the partitions of the hard disk removed. As you can see, it was a fairly quick and simple job.

Delete all partitions from hard drive

To eliminate absolutely all the partitions of the hard disk the indicated thing will be to do it with a DVD or USB of installation of Windows 10. During the installation process we will access a partition editor where we can leave the hard drive completely empty and without any partition.
