It is certain that we have all used the copy, cut and paste options on our computer at some time, among other things because it is a basic action on a computer. In addition, you will also know the basic controls to do this using the keyboard:

This means that when we copy an image or text from a computer, and we have this option activated, we can view this content on the clipboard of the other computer to be able to use it. The operation is very simple: the system uploads the content that we copy to the cloud and then can download it to any of the computers.

One thing we will have to take into account is that, to synchronize the clipboard, obviously we will have to be in the system with the same Microsoft account on both computers.

Of course, we can also say that it is still quite limited, since we can only view and share images of less than 1 MB and texts copied without formatting. Since, if Microsoft had taken the batteries in this aspect, they could have offered a solution with a slightly larger capacity.

Thanks to this new update, from now on we will be able to see the content of the clipboard of our system as it traditionally happens with the Android system, for example.

To test, we will copy or cut any content from our equipment, for example a piece of screen printing. Next, we will have to press the key combination " Windows + V " to open the Windows 10 clipboard.

A small window will open in which we can view the piece of the image copied inside. If we place ourselves on the image, we can perform two actions with it, remove it from it, pressing the "X" button or anchor it to the clipboard with the pushpin button.

Now what we are going to do is the most interesting of all, and it is the possibility of having a common and accessible clipboard for the computers that are connected to the internet and have the same Microsoft user account active in the system session.

• To do this again we are going to go to the clipboard configuration and we are going to go to the " Synchronize devices " section. Now we must click on " Introduction "

• A window will appear in which we must validate our Microsoft account in the typical security procedure of the company. Once we see this procedure performed on both computers, we will obtain a menu such as this:

• Pressing the “ synchronize between devices ” button will activate the clipboard in the cloud. We can also allow the texts that we copy to the Windows 10 clipboard to synchronize automatically if we activate the option below.

It is possible that in the case that when we close the configuration window the configuration changes are reverted and the clipboard is not active. In this case, we recommend closing and logging on to the computer and trying once again to activate this option.

Next steps of the Windows 10 clipboard

Microsoft has an application for Android, specifically a Launcher, which provides all the file browsing interface for a Smartphone. Thanks to this, soon we will also have the possibility of having the clipboard of our desktop computer synchronized with the Android device.

Currently we have not detected a possible interaction between these two, so we will be waiting for news about it.
