Comparison: bq aquaris 5 vs nokia lumia 525
The time has come to face the already well-known in these parts BQ Aquaris 5, with the new model of the Lumia family: the Nokia Lumia 525, a low-cost smartphone with balanced features, which is not as ambitious in features as its older brothers and backed by Microsoft with its operating system: Windows Phone 8. The price of both smartphones (as we will see at the end) is within the reach of many consumers, so they are still a good option to give away next Christmas. If you still have doubts, the Professional Review team will do everything possible to dispel them. Stay tuned:
We will start with its cameras: the aquaris 5 wins the battle of megapixels thanks to its rear sensor of 8 MP compared to the 5 MP that presents the main objective of the Lumia 525, both with LED flash . The nokia model has the following applications: Nokia Smart Cam, Creative Studio, Glam Me and Cinemagraph, which help to get the most out of the camera. For its part, the BQ has a brightness, proximity and autofocus sensor, among other functions. As for the front camera, the Aquaris 5 is characterized by being VGA (0.3 MP), with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels, very useful for making video calls and self-portraits. As for the video recording, we know that in the case of the Lumia it is done in HD 720p format at 30 fps.
Its processors have similar power: while the Bq Aquaris 5 features a 1.2 GHZ Quad core Cortex A7 SoC and a PowerVR Series5 SGX graphics chip, the CPU and GPU of the Nokia model are Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Dual Core a 1 GHz and Adreno 305 respectively. The RAM of both smartphones is 1 GB. They present a different operating system: Android version 4.2 Jelly Bean for the BQ and Windows Phone 8 for the Lumia 525.
We will continue with its screens: the Aquaris 5 has a larger screen, thanks to its 5 inches with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, which gives it 220 ppi. It also features capacitive IPS qHD technology. The one of the Lumia 525 we could describe as super-sensitive and it has 4 inches and a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels (WVGA), which gives it a density of 235 pixels per inch. Like the Aquaris, it has IPS technology that gives it a wide viewing angle.
Of the connectivity nothing stands out especially from any of the terminals, since they have very basic supports today such as 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth or GPS.
Now your designs: The Bq Aquaris 5 is 142mm high x 71mm wide x 9.9mm thick and weighs 170 grams. The Nokia Lumia 525 for its part is a smaller and lighter model with its 119.9 mm high × 64 mm wide × 9.9 mm thick and weighs 124 grams. Both housings are made of polycarbonate, a plastic that guarantees durability and gives them a good touch. We have the Aquaris 5 available in black, but in the case of the Lumia 525 they are interchangeable: white, black, yellow and orange, with a glossy finish.
As for its internal memories: the Bq Aquaris 5 has a 16 GB model and the Nokia Lumia 525 has 8 GB of ROM. Both have expandable memories up to 64 GB through microSD cards.
Their batteries present a very considerable difference: while the Bq Aquaris 5 is protected by a capacity of 2, 200 mAh, the Nokia Lumia 525 presents only 1, 430 mAh, something that the company has not taken much care of and that will be noticed a lot in the autonomy of the terminal.
WE RECOMMEND YOU Sony does not guarantee support for its current mid-range terminalsWe will finish by specifying their prices: The Bq Aquaris 5 has a fairly affordable price of 179.90 euros, as specified on the brand's official website, a cost that has been reduced by 20 euros on its initial price thanks to the appearance of its counterpart in HD. The Nokia Lumia 525 we have available in Spain for about 140 - 150 euros free, a very competitive price considering the benefits it presents, following the line of the Lumia 520.
