Comparison: iocean x7 hd vs lg nexus 4
Here we continue with our beloved iOcean X7 HD, article after article, making room on our website for different “confrontations” between it and other famous smartphones on the market. This time it was the turn of a member of the Nexus family, the second on board, the LG Nexus 4. We are facing a well-known and beloved terminal in the market, which will not be easy to stand up to, but let's not underestimate the X7 HD, a low cost Chinese device that arrives ready to leave its mark with its characteristics, very good in relation to its price. Very attentive:
Design: the iOcean X7HD has dimensions of 141 mm high × 69 × 8.95 millimeters thick. Its casing is made of aluminum. The Nexus has measures of: 133.9 mm high × 68.7 mm wide × 9.1 mm thick and weighs 130 grams. Its back is glass, where a holographic texture has been placed that gives it a feeling of relief, although it is smooth. It is resistant to being devoid of protection and resting on a table or carrying it in your pocket, although it is best not to check its real resistance to falls.
Screen: The one on the iOcean is slightly larger thanks to its 5 inches, compared to the 4.7 inches True HD of the Nexus 4. The resolutions of the Chinese model and the Nexus are 1280 x 720 and 1280 x 768 pixels. In both cases, the screens have IPS technology, making it possible for them to have very sharp colors and be equipped with a wide viewing angle. As for the Nexus we can also add that it has Gorilla Glass 2 protection .
Camera: both terminals have a main lens with the same number of megapixels, that is, 8 with functions such as autofocus or LED flash. The difference is better felt in the front camera, presenting 2 megapixels in the case of the iOcean and 1.3 megapixels if we refer to the Nexus 4. As for video recording, what we know is that the Nexus 4 performs them in 1080p and at 30 fps.
Processor: The iOcean features a 1.30 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 SoC and a Mali400MP2 graphics chip . The Nexus meanwhile has a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 1.5-core quad-core CPU and an Adreno 320 GPU. The LG's RAM has 2 GB, turning out to be double that of the iOcean, which has 1 GB. Both phones share the same operating system version: Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
Battery : if we opt for the LG we will find a 2100 mAh capacity battery that never hurts, but the Chinese model also offers the possibility of choosing between a 2000 and a 3000 mAh battery. A luxury".
Connectivity : in no case do we have 4G / LTE technology in mind , so we will have to settle for other more basic connections such as WiFi, 3G, Bluetooth or FM radio .
Internal memory : while the iOcean X7HD has a model on the market with 4 GB of ROM , the LG Nexus 4 does the same with two other different terminals, 8 and 16 GB . The Chinese model also has the possibility of expanding its memory through microSD cards of up to 32 GB , something that does not happen with the Nexus, which lacks this feature.
Price and availability: it will be a long time before seeing the iOcean in the Spanish market, at least on a large scale, since in mid-January it was released in its own country (China) for a price in yuan that in exchange is slightly less than 100 euros, about 96 euros approximately. However it can be ours from the web electronicabarata.es for 154.99 euros. Another option is to purchase it directly from your country of origin for the price indicated above, without of course counting customs costs. The Nexus 4 for its part is currently around 300 euros (seen for 319 euros of 16 GB in black and 329 euros free in white, also 16 GB on the website of pccomponentes), a smartphone that has some very remarkable characteristics but which is unfortunately not within the reach of the public.
