Comparison: jiayu g5 vs samsung galaxy s4
Now it is the turn of the older brother of the Galaxy (the S4) to join the particular struggles we play every week on our website. The rival is still the Jiayu G5, as you already know a Chinese smartphone that causes a furore in the market thanks to its good features and its low price. Throughout this comparison we will see if one of the greats in the market shades the discreet but powerful Jiayu. Do not lose detail and perhaps today you will find the perfect gift from Reyes:
Designs: The Chinese model has dimensions of 130 mm high x 63.5 mm wide x 7.9 mm thick, manufactured in a metal and resistant casing clearly inspired by the terminals manufactured by the apple company. The Samsung is somewhat larger due to its 136.6 mm height × 69.8 mm width × 7.9 mm thickness and a weight of 130 grams, which features a durable plastic (polycarbonate) finish.
The screens of both smartphones differ both in size and resolution: 4.5 inches and a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels accompany the Jiayu, giving it a density of 312 pixels per inch. It also has IPS technology, which gives the screen a greater viewing angle and very vivid colors. It is also protected from accidents thanks to the glass manufactured by the Corning Gorilla Glass 2 company. The Samsung Galaxy S4 for its part has an excellent 5 inches Full HD super AMOLED and 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, which translates to a density of 441 dpi . The security of the Galaxy screen rests with the Gorilla Glass 3.
Processor: The Jiayu G5 features a 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589T SoC , while the Samsung Galaxy S 4 has a 1.9GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU. Its graphics chips are also different: IMGSGX544 in the case of the G5. and Adreno 320 type for the Galaxy. If we talk about the basic model of the Jiayu, we would say that it has 1 GB of RAM, but if we take into account the Advanced model that the Chinese company markets, we would be talking about 2 GB of RAM, the same that accompanies the Galaxy S4. The Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system is available on both smartphones.
Now the cameras: both terminals have a 13 megapixel main objective, both with LED Flash, but in the case of the Jiayu it has a gravity, proximity, light sensor (BSI), etc. Its front cameras have 3 MP in the case of the G5 and 2 MP if we talk about the S4, very useful for making video calls and photos for social media profiles. As for video recording, Samsung performs them in Full HD 1080p at 30 fps.
Connectivity: while the connections of the Jiayu do not escape most of the smartphones on the market (WiFi, Bluetooth, FM, GPS / A-GPS), 4G technology is found in the Galaxy S4.
Its batteries have a noticeable difference in capacity: the Chinese and South Korean models have 2000 and 2600 mAh respectively. The increased power of the Samsung will compensate for this difference, resulting in rather similar autonomies.
Now their internal memories: both devices have a 32 GB model for sale , although in the case of the G5 we can find another 4 GB ( Basic ) and if we talk about the S4 we find one more than 16 GB and another 64 GB of ROM (three Galaxy models in total). In both cases, these memories are expandable up to 64 GB through microSD cards.
Finally, prices: the Chinese model can be found on its official website, in normal or Advanced model for 245 and 290 euros respectively, in black or white. This makes it a good value for money smartphone, adjustable relatively to any pocket. The S4 is currently sold for more than 400 euros (available on the pccomponentes website for 449 or 499 euros depending on its internal memory, color, if it is a free terminal, etc.). It is a smartphone that has excellent characteristics but is unfortunately not within the reach of the public.
