Our new candidate to face the newcomer Jiayu S1 is none other than Samsung's flagship, the Galaxy S4, a high-end and well-known smartphone on the market. We will see throughout the comparison if their specifications are in line with the cost for which they are for sale, and once this is achieved, carefully assess which of them best suits our demands and lifestyle. We will start with its screens: the Samsung Galaxy S4 has an excellent 5 inches Full HD super AMOLED (which is characterized by being brighter, less reflective of the sun and consuming less energy) and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, which translates into a density of 441 dpi . For its part, the Jiayu S1 presents 4.9 inches with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It has IPS technology that gives its screen a wide viewing angle and vivid colors. The two terminals use Corning glass to protect themselves from accidents: Gorilla Glass 2 for the Jiayu and Gorilla Glass 3 for the Galaxy S4.

We continue to compare their processors: the Jiayu S1 features a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 SoC , while the Samsung Galaxy S4 features a 1.9GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU. Its graphics chips instead are the same: Adreno 320 in both cases. Both devices are accompanied by 2 GB of RAM and have the Android 4.2 operating system. Jelly Bean.

Their cameras: both terminals have a main 13-megapixel lens , which have an autofocus function and an LED flash , among others. They also match its 2 MP front camera. Video recording is done in HD 720p at 30 fps in the case of the Jiayu S1 and in Full HD 1080p if we refer to the Samsung.

Its batteries have a very similar capacity: 2300 mAh if we talk about the Jiayu and 2600 mAh if we refer to the Samsung. This fact, added to the fact that their processors are similar in power, will endow in principle an autonomy more or less equal to each one of the smartphones, although this may change depending on the use that we give to the terminal (video playback, games, connectivity, etc).

Now its internal memories: the two smartphones have a 32 GB model on the market, although the Galaxy S4 also has another 16 GB and another 64 GB ROM, so we are talking about three different devices. In both cases, these memories are expandable up to 64 GB through microSD cards.

Designs: The Chinese model has dimensions of 138 mm high x 69 mm wide x 9 mm thick and 145 grams of weight. It has a back shell made of steel that gives it great robustness. The Samsung is somewhat smaller due to its 136.6 mm height × 69.8 mm width × 7.9 mm thickness and a weight of 130 grams, which features a durable plastic (polycarbonate) finish.

Connectivity: both devices have very common connections such as 3G, WiFi or Bluetooth, although the S4 also offers 4G / LTE support, as is common among high-end smartphones.

Finally, prices: the Jiayu S1 is a somewhat more powerful terminal that also comes at a very good price: about 230 euros, so we can define it as a smartphone with a good quality / price ratio, adjustable relatively to any pocket. The S4 is currently sold for more than 400 euros (available on the pccomponentes website for 449 or 499 euros depending on its internal memory, color, if it is a free terminal, etc.). It is a smartphone that has excellent characteristics but is unfortunately not within the reach of the public.
