The smallest of the family

The Galaxy family is a great family. However, if we take its latest and most powerful member, the Galaxy S4, the Mini version would become the smallest of the family right now. Small but bully? Let's see. First of all, when we talk about "mini", we would simply expect more humble features. But the truth is that "mini" is something literal. Its screen is "only" 4.3 inches. And I put the quotes because in my view the big brother's screen is too big for it to be really easy to operate with one hand.

On the other hand, many other things that are not the screen have become too small. The screen resolution is much more humble and the dots per inch stay at 256. The camera is 8 megapixels. Even so, he records video in Full HD like his older brother. Its processor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8930 / Krait 300, develops about 1.7 Ghz for each of the two cores it has. As you can see, it is getting further and further away from its older brother, the Galaxy S4.

Its body is made of plastic, and in that Samsung seems to have it clear. Its heart beats with Android 4.2.2 and its update is almost guaranteed, although it depends on Samsung. The RAM is 1.5GB. Well, after this bare the younger brother of the Samsung flagship, and making it clear that it is a quite inferior terminal, what can we say about the price? There is no competition in that. After all, it is a good phone and it also has an LTE. Its price is € 445 free in Spain, compared to € 699 for the normal Samsung Galaxy S4.

Conclusions: it all depends on your budget

In the end, all of this is based on the budget you have to buy a phone. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is much worse than its older brother. Worse in the sense that their specifications are simpler, but even so, if you do not expect much from your phone, they can serve you and more than enough. If you can actually afford the almost 700 € that its older brother is worth, without a doubt you are going to enjoy it much more, by technology, by qualities, by screen and by power.

But if we are frank, what Samsung does is fine. A decaffeinated version of its flagship, with the same name and last name Mini. It has guaranteed success.
