Technical comparison: play station 4 vs xbox one.
Are you still one of those who have not already done with a new generation console and doubts between which to choose? We clarify your doubts and much more here. To start, what does each one bring? Well, the two bring us the console, the HDMI cable, a controller, the power cables, a USB cable to recharge the controls, 500 GB hard drives and USB headphones. Now come the differences: PS4 brings us a 15-day coupon for PlayStation Plus and the option to replace the hard drive it brings, with another one, without losing the warranty. On the other hand, the XBOX ONE does not allow us to modify the hard disk without losing the warranty, but it brings us its famous Kinect, hence also that it costs € 100 more expensive. On the other hand, in future updates, XBOX ONE will allow the use of external USB memory, while Sony's have no intention of that.
When it comes to accessories from other suppliers, PlayStation 4 supports USB headphones but not Bluetooth as PS3 did. You can also connect a wireless or USB keyboard, but if it is designed for PS3, the special keys will lose their function. In neither case does it support mice. It should be noted that it is very possible that in future updates these limitations will be solved, but Sony has not yet given specific data on when it will fix them. Xbox One does not have Bluetooth so you only have USB keyboard support, no mouse. Xbox 360 headsets are not supported, at least until some type of adapter appears, which can be a hassle for those with advanced Astra or Razer helmets.
Now comes the good thing, the two consoles are almost identical on the inside in terms of components, honestly this has never happened in previous generations of consoles, so they make it more difficult to choose. The base of both machines is the AMD Fusion APU, which brings together both CPU and GPU on the same chip. That allows for a number of efficiencies such as lower power consumption and closer collaboration between the main processor and the graphics. Specifically, the CPU of the two platforms is practically the same, with a slight difference in frequency of 1.75 GHz for Xbox One compared to 1.6 GHz for PlayStation 4. It is made up of eight cores and coming from whoever comes it is clear that they enjoy 64-bit x86 technology vs. PowerPC that is used by Wii U and all previous-generation consoles. The drastic reduction in frequency in any case is striking, from 3.2 GHz to less than 2. It is true that being different architectures, no direct comparisons can be made, but it is clear that the CPUs have been built with the objective in mind of a higher energy efficiency vs. brute force.
This eternal fight has no end, but summarizing the above, it is possible that the Xbox One exceeds the PS4 a little in components, but, the queen of peripherals will always be the PS4.
