Comparison: xiaomi redmi note vs samsung galaxy note 2
Table of contents:
On this occasion we begin the week with a combat that pits our beloved Xiaomi Redmi Note against one of the greats of the Galaxy family, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Both terminals coincide in several characteristics, also having other specifications that will make their differences. Once all these qualities have been exposed and their costs known, the time will come for you to assess which of them has the best value for money. Let the battle begin !:
Technical characteristics:
Designs: the Xiaomi Redmi Note is a tad bigger thanks to its 154 mm high x 78.7 mm wide x 9.45 mm thick, compared to 151.1 mm high x 80.5 mm wide x 9.4 mm thick and 180 grams of the Galaxy Note 2. This model features a rough metallic stripe on the sides that is attached to a plastic casing with a leather-like feel, giving it a sleek look, while the Chinese terminal features a sturdy plastic body, black on the front and white behind.
Screens: they have a practically identical size, being 5.5 inches in the case of the Xiaomi and 5.55 inches if we refer to the Note 2. They share the same 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. IPS technology is present in the Chinese Smartphone, which gives it highly defined colors and an almost complete viewing angle. The screen of the Galaxy has super AMOLED technology, reflecting less sunlight, with a higher brightness and lower power consumption.
Cameras: Xiaomi's 13 megapixels are higher than the Note 2's 8 megapixels, both with LED flash. The Galaxy also has features such as autofocus and BSI technology, allowing us to take good quality snapshots even in low light conditions. As for its front cameras, the Chinese terminal wins again thanks to its 5 megapixels, compared to the 1.9 megapixels of the Note 2. Video recording is done in Full HD 1080p quality at 30 fps in both cases.
Processors: The Xiaomi has two different models for sale: one with a Mediatek 6592 Octa-core CPU that runs at 1.4 GHz, and another with the same processor but that runs at 1.7 GHz. They present the same graphics chip: Mali-450, but different RAM memory: 1 GB and 2 GB respectively. The Samsung model features a 1.6GHz quad-core SoC and a Mali - 400MP GPU. Its RAM memory is 2 GB. The Note 2 is accompanied by the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, while the Xiaomi does the same with MIU V5 (based on 4.2 Jelly Bean).
Connectivity: both devices have basic connections such as 3G, WiFi or Bluetooth , although in the case of the Samsung terminal we can also speak of LTE / 4G support .
Internal Memory: The Xiaomi has a single model on the market of 8 GB, while the Note 2 has two models for sale: one of 16 GB and the other of 32 GB. Both smartphones have a microSD card slot, up to 32 GB in the case of the Xiaomi and up to 64 GB in the case of the Note 2.
Batteries: in this aspect we are talking about two authentic titans, since that of the Chinese Smartphone has nothing more and less 3200 mAh, very little above that of the Note 2, which has 3100 mAh. It goes without saying that both terminals will therefore have enviable autonomy.
Availability and price:
The Xiaomi is available depending on the model for 160 - 170 euros (in the case of 1.4 GHz and 1 GB of RAM) and hovering around 200 euros in the case of 1.7 GHz and 2 GB of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2, is currently for sale for a price that exceeds 300 euros. The difference is mainly in the color, memory, etc., and of course the place where we buy it.
