Corsair continues to expand its catalog of PC chassis, this time we bring you the analysis of Corsair SPEC-OMEGA, a model that has been designed to offer a very aggressive and gaming aesthetic as well as features that make this chassis ideal for the most advanced users. Unboxing and design

The Corsair SPEC-OMEGA chassis comes perfectly packed in a cardboard box, once we open the box, we find the chassis fully accommodated and protected by several pieces of cork and a plastic bag.

As usual, the manufacturer has put a lot of care and love so that it reaches the end user in the best possible conditions. Next to the chassis we find a cardboard box with all the accessories necessary for mounting the equipment.

The box is based on a very bold and aggressive design, as we can see the pronounced angles and asymmetrical design predominate. With this Corsair series it is quite far from most models on the market that are based on a much more traditional and conservative look. Reminiscent of the Tempered Glass SPEC-Alpha we tested a few months ago.

On the front we come across a connection panel, this time we find two USB 3.0 ports next to the 3.5 m minijack connectors for audio and micro and the power and reset buttons.

While a large window has been placed on the side panel, this time it is made of the best quality tempered glass, it is noticeable that we are dealing with a high-end chassis that has been thought for the most foodies.

The inclusion of a window is almost obligatory nowadays in any chassis that aims high and this Corsair SPEC-OMEGA was not going to be the exception. We are in the era of RGB lights, that is why an RGB LED strip has been included in the front and fans with lighting have also been included, in this way we can enjoy a spectacular aesthetic in our equipment and the window will make more sense never.

At the back we see a very traditional design with seven expansion slots and the power supply in the lower area, this is the ideal location since it allows you to take fresh air directly from outside the equipment. If the source were in the upper area, it would “eat” all the heat generated by the hardware, something that damages the cooling, so it is better to avoid it.

We move to the lower area where we have a dust filter to protect the power supply from excessive accumulation of dirt. There are also two plastic legs that serve to slightly raise the chassis, this allows to create an air flow through the lower area to improve the cooling of the power supply.

Interior and assembly

We highlight that Corsair SPEC-OMEGA has been designed to assemble the equipment using the fewest possible tools , which is why to open the sides and mount the hard drives we will not have to use any tool beyond our hands , an excellent decision for the boys Corsair.

It's time to see inside ! In order to access everything that is hidden beyond the exterior, we only have to remove the main panel of tempered glass, as we have said, we do not need to use any tool for it. The first thing that strikes us is the ample space that we will have to mount all the components, an excellent job has been done to make the most of all the available space.

As for the motherboard we see that it supports ATX, Micro ATX and Mini ITX models, so it gives us great freedom in this regard and will adapt without problems to the needs of all users.

Regarding the graphics card, it allows models up to 37 cm in length, we can also mount CPU coolers up to 170 mm high. This means that it will be compatible with the most powerful models of graphics cards and heatsinks, without a doubt this is an excellent chassis for users who want a very very powerful computer.

In the area of the power supply we have a space of 200 mm so we will not have problems putting a high power unit.

On storage, it allows us to install hard drives in four bays, two of them for 3.5-inch drives and two for 2.5-inch drives, with this we should have no problem achieving a large storage capacity combining all the benefits of fast SSDs and mechanical disks.

We go to see the cooling that is one of the most important points of any chassis, this time we can put three front fans of 120 mm or two of 140 mm, a SP120 LED Fan model with RGB lighting comes as standard. We can also put two 120mm or 140mm top fans and a 120mm rear fan, this is also included. Lovers of liquid cooling will also be well served with the possibility of mounting a 240mm, 280mm or 360mm radiator on the front.

Final words and conclusion about Corsair SPEC-OMEGA

The Corsair SPEC-OMEGA is a great box and it comes to compete in the chassis market that ranges from 100 euros to 120 euros. A very bold aesthetic, tempered glass window and good cooling are its main ingredients.

In our tests we have been very happy with the assembly of the equipment. We hardly needed to use tools and in a matter of 25 minutes we had the box assembled. The team with an AMD Ryzen 7 1800X processor, MSI X370 motherboard, 16 GB of RAM and an RX VEGA 56 has given us great performance.

As an improvement we see it necessary that in future revisions it includes a filter in the upper area (ceiling), which is one of the most critical sources of dust entry. Also that the gap in the power supply was greater (at least 20 or 22 cm) and that they had opted for RGB instead of Red LED. It would have been great, to sync with our motherboard or graphics card with advanced lighting technology .

Its sale price must range from 100 to 110 euros. If it is finally confirmed, it seems to us a super valid option. Since we consider it a vitaminized version of the Corsair SPEC-Alpha. Great Corsair job!
