Recently, we have seen two new sources of the Corsair brand in the databases of the certifying agencies 80 Plus and Cybenetics, the latter with very complete information on the 1000W model, and which allow us to anticipate many characteristics of these future power supplies 80 Plus Titanium.

Corsair works on the AX1000 and AX850 manufactured by Seasonic

Surprisingly, Corsair is collaborating with Seasonic again for the first time in several years, as this will be the manufacturer of the new range of fonts, as confirmed by Cybenetics information.

The misconception that "Corsair fonts are made by Seasonic" is circulating online. This was true in most models from almost a decade ago, but today no range is manufactured by them, except for the previous AX (not AXi), already discontinued and which will now be replaced by these new AX Titanium, maintaining the maker.

It's also important to mention that while Seasonic has fairly earned a great reputation as a manufacturer (just like others), people tend to overvalue it .;)

The fan used is the Hong Hua HA13525M12F-Z, a model with dynamic fluid bearings that are of high quality. However, it is probably a step backwards compared to Corsair's own NR135P used in other ranges such as the HX, HXi, RMi…

This is because this specific model from Hong Hua does not have a great reputation in terms of its sound at low loads, something that we could see in the Antec HCG1000 Extreme and that is accredited by media such as Computerbase, where a direct comparison between the Hong Hua fan and the Corsair leaves the first worst stopped. In any case, we have a selectable hybrid mode that will keep the fan off at low loads.

Other cool facts is that these will include 2 8-pin CPU connectors, 8 6 + 2-pin PCIe, 8 4-pin Molex and a whopping 16 SATA connectors. Unsurprisingly, ATX, CPU and PCIe cables include capacitors, which make mounting slightly difficult but aid in filtering tasks. As expected, the cabling is 100% modular.

The AX1000 uses 16AWG cabling on the PCIe connectors, thicker and therefore better than those of the Seasonic Prime Ultra Titanium

Everything indicates that this range will be based on the Seasonic Prime Ultra Titanium, models revered for their quality, although surely we will miss fewer factors present in other Corsair ranges such as the possibility of selecting a multi-rail mode or a quieter fan. On the latter, Cybenetics has not published loudness results so we do not know how it will behave.

We don't know what its release date and price will be, but it could be really interesting. In fact, there is not a word about it from Corsair, and only the 80 Plus and Cybenetics data is available. What do you think about this future release of Corsair? Leave your opinion in the comments!
