Cybenetics announces new eta-230v and lambda certificates

Cybenetics intends to revolutionize the certificates on the efficiency and the level of silence of the power supplies, for this it has announced the new certifications ETA-230V and LAMBDA-230V.

Given the increased demand for 230 VAC results compared to 115 VAC, it has been decided to start two new programs, the ETA-230V and the LAMBDA-230V. The general methodologies that follow are identical to those used by 115V programs. The ETA-230V program is based on the efficiency results of thousands of different load combinations, which are obtained through a unique and customized application to represent the true overall efficiency of the power supply. The sources must comply with the CEC, ErP Lot 6 2010/2013 and ErP lot 3 2014 directives and also comply with all the requirements mentioned in regulation (EU) No 617/2013:

• (a) 85% efficiency at 50% of the nominal output power; (b) 82% efficiency at 20% and 100% of the nominal output power; (c) power factor = 0.9 at 100% of the rated output power.

ETA-230V includes five levels (A ++, A +, A, A-, S) and each certification badge is linked to the specific product through a short URL and a QR code. Compared to ETA certification with 115V input, overall efficiency levels have been increased by 2%, overall PF is lower as is overall efficiency at 5VSB, which is 1% lower at all levels.

The LAMBDA-230V for its part uses advanced methodology and a highly sophisticated monitor / control program, noise readings from the power supply are recorded throughout its entire operating range and an overall noise reading is obtained. This program consists of seven levels (A ++, A +, A, A-, S ++, S +, S). Each certification badge is linked to the specific product via a short URL and QR code, which will be printed on it, allowing users to easily find a Cybenetics-certified PSU evaluation report.
