In recent months, the issue of PC store exclusivity has become a highly controversial topic and is debated on social media and video game forums. CD Projekt has come out to make it clear that their next video game, Cyberpunk 2077, will not be exclusive to any PC store.

CD Projekt makes it clear that there will be no exclusives with Cyberpunk 2077

Bethesda games, such as Fallout 76, have been released exclusively on Bethesda.net , while 4A Games' Metro Exodus has been temporarily released in the Epic Games store. This seems to be very good for developers, who can go from the sales commissions that Steam has, although for a sector of the players, this can be a little headache.

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most anticipated releases today, with CD Projekt Red, owned by the PC game store GOG, a DRM-free gaming platform that will host the title at launch. In this regard, CD Projekt Red has come out to clarify that Cyberpunk 2077 will not be exclusive to any store, not even its own GOG store.

Cyberpunk 2077 has no release date yet

Late last year, CD Projekt Red released Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales , an RPG that was initially released as a GOG exclusive. This RPG did not meet the developer's first sales targets, forcing them to launch the game on Steam shortly after its release. With this in mind, it seems unlikely that CD Projekt Red will release more GOG exclusives in the future, although they could do the same as Ubisoft and launch it on both GOG and the Epic Games Store, a move that avoids the exclusivity of a single store and could push more players towards GOG.

At the moment, we have no idea when Cyberpunk 2077 will be released, whether this year or 2020.
