Dac xonar essence one plus edition

Anonim

Received with considerable media admiration, the ASUS Xonar Essence One Headphone Amplifier DAC was awarded a 2012 CES Innovations Award in the Audio category for being the only DAC with 8x symmetric oversampling technology. This new version adds a kit of six Op-Amps that allow the customization of the tone without using any soldering iron.

Tone customization with the six included Op-Amps

Operational amplifiers (Op-Amps) have a basic role in amplifying analog audio and shaping its tone and characteristics. For this reason, it is common for audiophiles to switch between them to adjust the performance of their devices according to their preferences, something that the DAC Xonar Essence One Plus Edition greatly facilitates thanks to its eleven interchangeable Op-Amps.

The Xonar team tested over a hundred Op-Amps, collecting those that offered the most interesting features. The final selection for the Xonar Essence One Plus Edition version was made up of the original Texas Instruments TI-NE5532, four Texas Instruments TI-OPA2132PA and two NS-LM4562NA. The result is the possibility of enjoying five different shades. The kit also features a clamp, screwdriver and guide with tips written by the Xonar team for exchanging Op-Amps. In addition, the kit is also compatible with Xonar Essence ST / STX, Xonar Xense and Xonar DS / DSX products.

Hi-Fi audio with symmetric 8x oversampling technology

While the most common oversampled DA converters transfer any sound source at 192kHz, the Xonar Essence One Plus Edition oversamples 44.1 / 88.2 / 176.4kHz at 352.8kHz and 48/96 / 192kHz at 384kHz symmetrically. (Note: 44.1 × 8 = 3 52.8kHz; 48 × 8 = 384kHz). The result is an increase in data volume by increasing the resolution to 32bits and preserving all the details of the user's music collection.

The Xonar Essence One Plus Edition offers 120dBs SNR, which ensures a greater dynamic range that results in an ideal reproduction of all the details and a reduction of the noise level. It also features a headphone amplifier optimized for 600 ohms, making it compatible with any headphone set.

The dedicated power supply ensures optimal power for faithful reproduction of transient attacks, as well as full isolation from AC line noise using ASUS Hyper Grounding technology. ASUS has also included WIMA capacitors, one of the most recognized components among sound professionals for its musicality and balance of the stereo image. Other notable features are asynchronous data transfer to eliminate conversion-derived Jitter and XLR connectors for integration with professional audio equipment.
