The reference design of the gtx 980 has been revealed
Videocardz has shown the reference design of the new Nvidia GeForce GTX 980, as you can see the new Nvidia card presents the same design and cooling system used in the "old" GeForce GTX 780 and GTX 780 Ti.
The new GeForce GTX 980 is powered by 2 6-pin connectors that together with the PCI-E bus can offer up to 180W of power, there is space for a third connector but it seems that it will only be seen in custom models that arrive with a significant margin of overclocked or could even come with 6 + 8 pin connectors. In addition it is observed that the new GTX 980 is powered by a 5-phase VRM unlike the 6 phases of the GTX 780Ti.
We also know that the Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 will offer five display outputs in the form of a DVI, an HDMI, and three DisplayPorts, pending the official announcement that the HDMI interface is about the expected HDMI 2.0.
