Yesterday, the cloud storage platform and collaborative work Dropbox presented a new option within its individual subscription plans, which it has called Dropbox Professional and which, on this occasion, is especially aimed at those people who, still needing more storage space and greater functions than those offered in the Plus account, they do not need a standard, but they do not need a company account.

The Dropbox of freelancers

The new Professional subscription option offered by Dropbox is a sort of intermediate solution between the Plus account and a company account, especially designed for freelance professionals, so it places special emphasis on collaborative work options and storage needs.

With a price of 16.58 euros per month, Dropbox Professional offers 1TB of storage and includes a new feature called Dropbox Showcase. Thanks to this new feature, Dropbox content is organized in a PDF with a personalized design, informative previews, titles and subtitles and personalized marks, while allowing you to know who consults, downloads or comments on the files.

The new option also includes OCR and Smart Sync features, a feature that was previously limited to Dropbox Business users. Smart Sync allows users to customize where their files and folders are stored, choosing between local storage, cloud storage, or both.

With the OCR or Optical Character Recognition feature, Dropbox is able to “understand” the text of scanned documents, allowing the user to search those texts.

Dropbox Professional's arrival comes just two weeks after the service has revamped its brand image with the introduction of brighter, higher-contrast colors, new fonts, and new logos for its products. If you want to consult this new option or any other available in Dropbox, you can do it here.
