The electronic ID works again

A few weeks ago, millions of digital certificates of the National Identity Document were suspended due to a security breach. After a few weeks in which the Police has taken measures, the electronic ID returns to work. Although an in-person update will be necessary. After the deactivation of these electronic DNIs due to a failure discovered by the University of the Czech Republic, they are back.

The National Police has applied certain technical corrections during this time. Now they work again and are valid. Although an in-person data update is required. It seems that the main failure detected belonged to the reliability of the document when executing the electronic signature.

New valid electronic ID

For users with one, you have to identify if your certificate has a vulnerability. It is enough to know if it has a number after ASG160, 000 and that it has been issued from April 2015. This procedure is necessary to know if it is necessary to go through the DNI Update Point. In addition, the National Police allows the updating and renewal of the DNIe once they have verified your identity in person.

To carry out this procedure it is not necessary to make an appointment or carry out any previous procedure. It is enough to go to the DNI update point and present the required information to verify your identity.
