As we informed you a few hours ago, tomorrow the expected Apple iMac Pro goes on sale, which, according to the company, and at least until the "promised" modular Mac Pro is released, will be the fastest Mac of all times. But now, in addition, we know more concretely how much faster this beast of the desktop will really be.

The iMac Pro steps on the gas

Marques Brownlee and Jonathan Morrison, both "reviewers" with separate channels on YouTube, have shared some videos of the new iMac Pro in which they have tested the performance of the CPU based on different benchmarks in Geekbench simulating different scenarios and / or workload situations in the real world.

In both videos, the mid-configuration iMac Pro with a 3.0GHz 10-core Intel Xeon processor recorded a score that places it as up to 45% faster than the high-end 2013 multi-core Mac Pro.

The 10-core iMac Pro is also up to 93 percent faster than the latest 27-inch iMac 5K with high-end tech specs.

However, considering that Apple said the iMac Pro can be configured with an 18-core Xeon processor even faster, these benchmarks based on a 10-core processor aren't even the maximum. As a result, the 18-core iMac Pro is expected to be arguably the fastest Mac ever to date, plus an incredible margin of advantage.

On the other hand, the iMac Pro can also be equipped with up to 4TB of SSD storage, up to 128GB of ECC RAM, and an AMD Radeon Pro Vega 64 graphics processor with 16GB of HBM2 memory with which to take full advantage of its magnificent 5K screen.

With four integrated Thunderbolt 3 ports, the iMac Pro can manage up to two 5K-quality external displays or up to four 4K 60Hz displays simultaneously. It also has a 10 Gigabit Ethernet port, four USB-A 3.0 ports, an SD card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
