According to rumors, the second edition of the iPhone XR, which, supposedly, would be released in the fall of this year, will include among its improvements the incorporation of a double rear camera system, as already included in previous models from the iPhone 6. Plus, and the current iPhone XS and XS Max. With this, the current iPhone "entry" would offer advanced photographic technology similar to that of its "brothers".

iPhone XR with dual rear camera

As published by the specialized media Mac Otakara last Friday, citing information from Chinese suppliers to Apple, as is already the case with the current iPhone X and XS, one lens would be wide-angle and the other telephoto. The current iPhone XR features a single wide-angle lens.

As pointed out by Apple Insider , Apple has traditionally used telephoto lenses for two purposes. The first is 2x optical zoom, which offers a higher quality than digital zoom. Second is portrait mode, done in the iOS camera app: the telephoto lens captures the primary lens of the photograph while the wide angle captures the depth data used to isolate the subject and simulate a DSLR-style portrait.

The iPhone XR employs specialized algorithms to achieve a similar portrait effect, but the resulting image is far away and not as accurate as it is on iPhone XS models.

On the other hand, multiple rumors indicate that the iPhone "XI" and "XI Max" 5.8 and 6.5 inches and OLED screen will come with a triple-lens camera. In this case, possibly, the third lens would be a super wide-angle lens.

And as we pointed out a few days ago, certain design changes are also expected in the 2019 iPhone. In this sense, a one-piece 3D patterned glass back would be applied, a new mute button similar to the one we had in previous iPads, and it's even speculated with the least likely option that the Lightning connector be replaced by the USB-C standard and an 18W power adapter added.
