The original RaspBerry Pi showed the world that we could have (almost) a computer for $ 35. This little prodigy has surprised us time and time again, and its developers have now announced the Raspberry Pi 3 Model A +, which they say "tries to close things off in style" in the current generation of this miniPC.

Raspberry Pi 3 Model A + costs $ 25, smaller, cheaper, but with sacrifices

The new version has reduced the size of the previous Model B + in both size and price: it is now available for just $ 25.

The new model maintains the same CPU, but halves memory to 512MB of LPDDR2 SDRAM memory, all four USB 2.0 ports down to one, and no Ehernet port is available. The rest of your connectivity options are still there, including WiFi 802.11 ac or support for Bluetooth 4.2 LE. The new model is therefore located between the most compact RaspBerry Pi Zero W and the B + model announced in March this year.

Eben Upton explained in the official announcement: "Everything we do next will necessarily be a minor evolution, because it will need a new silicon core, at a new process node, with new memory technology . " Until that future model arrives, however, the new, compact version of the RaspBerry Pi could be an interesting option for many users.

Therefore, the new RaspBerry Pi 3 Model A + is smaller and cheaper, but sacrificing some features. Its cost is 25 dollars.
