The price of smartphones increases at a record rate

The average price of smartphones rose at a record rate during the fourth quarter of 2017, as revealed by Gfk data. The numbers show that consumers paid an average of $ 363 for their smartphones in the last three months of 2017, a 10% increase from 2016. This represents the fastest quarterly rise on record.

Smartphones are becoming more expensive

The data appears to be more revealing when we learn that phone sales in the fourth quarter of 2017 were only 1% from 2016, however, profits were up 11%. This means that the same number of phones are sold, but more expensive.
