Microsoft officially ends support for its Windows Vista operating system today, one of the least graceful versions of its OS that only has a 0.72% market share today.
Goodbye to Windows Vista
Windows Vista was the successor to Windows XP and it promised many good things but most of them did not finish working as expected, the large number of changes introduced in this version made its operation not error free. To this is added a great consumption of resources for its time, something that caused that in many cases the performance was worse than that of the previous version and even in many computers it was impossible to use it normally.
Windows 10 Analysis (Review in Spanish)
Windows Vista arrived in what was one of the worst times for Microsoft, the company was very proud and claimed that its monopoly was even greater. The great failure of Vista can be seen in that even Windows XP, whose support ended in 2014, has a much higher market share with 7.44% today.
After April 11, 2017, Windows Vista customers will no longer receive new security updates, non-security fixes, free or paid assisted support options, or online technical content updates. Microsoft has provided support for Windows Vista for the past 10 years, but the time has come for us, together with our hardware and software partners, to invest our resources in the latest technologies so that we can continue to deliver great new experiences.
