Between the iphone 8 and the iphone x, I am left with the iphone 7 plus
Table of contents:
Now that we know more about Apple's new phone bets for the 2017/2018 academic year, it is time to choose, and although the most “logical” thing could be to opt for either of the two new smartphones, the iPhone 8 or the iPhone X, I have decided to switch to iPhone 7 Plus. So if you are interested in knowing why, read on.
Among excesses and improvements, the most reasonable option
A little over three years ago I had an iPhone 6 Plus, and I had not thought to change my smartphone, however, three years is many years, and although the terminal continued to work in luxury (even with the betas of iOS 11), it is losing value and was already out of warranty, a risk for such a high-priced terminal. So, I decided to change.
My options were three: iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X or iPhone 7 Plus; I no longer see smartphones with screens of less than 5.5 inches so, for that same reason, any other model is ruled out for me.
Quickly, the iPhone 8 Plus was discarded. This is what has been "the same dog with a different collar". The iPhone 8 could well be called the iPhone 7s, and absolutely nothing would happen. It is a phone with certain improvements over the previous model (something usual) to which, in order to justify a change in nomenclature, Apple has changed its material, replacing aluminum with glass. This is also due to its new inductive wireless charging feature, unable to pierce through metal. 919 euros for an improved phone and with a charging system that, instead of tying me to a cable, ties me to a base? Well, it will be no.
We go to iPhone X. This is indeed a new iPhone, although the built-in technology, except for that three-dimensional facial recognition, is not. More compact size, lighter in weight, frameless design, 5.8 inches… But Mr. Tim Cook, you have swung on the price. 1, 159 euros? I repeat, it will not be. Especially since what they sell us today from Cupertino as a special edition of the tenth anniversary will become, in less than twelve months, a norm. If they have already said it several times during the Keynote, "This is the future of the iPhone." Clearer, the water and even so, in a short time there will be someone who laments. I absolutely do not feel like paying more for a phone than for an iPad or a Mac, and much less so that next year all iPhones adopt this design, as it will be, and I am left with two noses.
And suddenly we find the iPhone 7 Plu s, today, a real gem because it is the Apple phone with the best value for money. Its price has dropped 140 euros and now, it is much more attractive. And I don't even tell you if you go to the second-hand market. Seriously, you can find authentic bargains, and with a one-year warranty ahead (or more), since the iPhone 7 went on sale a year ago and therefore, throughout Europe, at least, it has a guarantee until September 2018.
The iPhone 7 Plus (or iPhone 7) is an incredibly powerful smartphone, with a dual-camera setup that takes great photos, great performance, and great speed. It is an iPhone 8 Plus without inductive wireless charging and with an aluminum back.
The new iPhone 8 is faster than the iPhone 7 thanks to its new A11 Bionic chip, and I have no doubt that it is, but it is the same old story. On the one hand, that speed is already invaluable to the human eye, and whoever says otherwise simply lies. And on the other hand, the vast majority of us are not able to take advantage of the full potential of the iPhone so, no matter how powerful and fast it is, we will continue browsing the net, sending messages, checking email, listening to music and much more, in the same way.
For all the above, and for some more reasons, it is why I have finally changed from iPhone 6 Plus to iPhone 7 Plus, discarding iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X.
