Anonim

Late last year, AMD reported that it was working on ARM architecture-based SoCs for mobile devices, initially targeting tablets, and that they will arrive later this year or early next.

So far there have been several rumors but now we finally get official information regarding these SoCs that AMD is preparing:

  • Manufactured using TSNC's 20nm manufacturing process. 4 64-bit ARM Cortex-A57 cores. AMD Radeon HD 10000 GPU based on Graphics Core Next Mobile graphics architecture.

In its version for industrial devices (robust Tablets aimed at professional uses) it will be named code Lanner Falcon while its code name for consumer devices is not yet known.

AMD's leaked release schedule also reveals that for 2016, they plan to launch a successor to Lanner Falcon, which will be based on next-generation CPU and GPU architectures, possibly its custom K12 ARM micro-architecture and a future graphics architecture.
